Mission Parishes

The work Our Lord Jesus Christ gave us to do, to go into all the world and share the Good News (cf. Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15-16, Luke 14:23, Acts 1:7-8), begins at home. The mission of the Church starts by being a Christian to our family, friends, community, and nation. Many of the first Orthodox Christians, beginning with Saint Stephen (Acts 6:8-8:2), were martyrs, which means to "witness" to that Good News. Saint Stephen witnessed by both living and preaching the Gospel, as the work of the Church is in word and deed. In our local community, we witness through prayer and liturgical life, and we also serve the poor and suffering. We support the Orthodox Church Mission Center (www.ocmc.org) and International Orthodox Christian Charities (www.iocc.org), and we also seek to build new mission parishes in Colorado Springs, across the state, and throughout our region. The Eastside Mission of Holy Theophany Orthodox Church is the latest mission parish started by Holy Theophany, and, God willing, there will be many more to come.

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
